The takeover of PSN (Production Services Network) a company founded and managed by local businessman Bob Keiller (with Sir Tom Hunter being as a latter major investor) was the largest acquisition the Woodgroup tycoon made in his career. It made Robert Keiller a wealthy man, and cost Sir Ian’s company approx. $1bn. The deal remains to this day one of the largest ever acquisitions by an Aberdeen founded and owned company. Sir Ian’s has many current business Interests amongst them being JW Holdings, a fishing company which remains to this day, the largest independent fishing business in Scotland. The company has Interests in Fish farming, a successful trawler and fish distribution business, finished supermarket ready products, fish processing, vessel finance amongst the many arms of the company. He has sold his shareholding in his beloved John Wood Group which is currently being run by CEO Ken Gilmartin.
